This is a Championships competition for owners who want to play Canine Disc with their dog.
This event has been sanctioned by the Australian Canine Disc Association (ACDA). All competition rounds will be considered towards ACDA Titles and Awards.
World class disc dog handlers will also be available to offer advice and help you improve. So get your dog, jump in the car, and come join the fun.
Prizes will be awarded to the the top three placings in all divisions.
This event is planned to run in the following order:
Teams can elect to compete in either or both of the following competition options:
The following eligibility rules apply to all ACDA sanctioned competitions.
Teams competing in the Junior, Novice and Open Divisions will have the total of their two rounds added to determine their placings.
Bonus Chase is almost identical to Toss & Fetch except that in Bonus Chase, to score 4 or 4.5 points the dog must catch the disc in a bonus zone. This bonus zone is placed in the middle of the field starting at the 30m line and having a diameter of 10m.

Bonus Chase is judged using the ACDA Bonus Chase Judging Criteria. A round score of 7.0 and 13.50 will earn the team an FDA qualifying card, a round score between 14.0 and 20.5 earns the team an FDE qualifying card and a round score between 21.0 and 22.5 earns the team an FDM qualifying card. A team required three (3) qualifying cards to gain that title.
In the Double Up Game, the teams score points by making catches between 10 metres and 20 metres. 1 point is scored for an on-the-ground catch and 1.5 points are scored for a mid-air catch with all four paws off the ground while the dog is an obvious leaping motion. Alternatively, the teams can double their progressive score by making a catch with all four paws inside a Double-Up Circle, which is located around the centre of the 25 metre distance with a 10 metre diameter.
The time limit for this fun event is 60 seconds, in which teams can make as many throws and scoring catches as they like. The qualifying score in the Accuracy Game for earning a leg towards the Frisbee Dog Games (FDG) Award is a minimum of 8 points, including at least one double.
For example, Team Alpha makes the following throws within their time limit:
Throw 1 is an on-the-ground catch within the 10-20 metre zone. This adds 1 point to their score and their progressive total is 1 point.
Throw 2 is a mid-air catch within the 10-20 metre zone. This adds 1.5 points to their score and their progressive total is now 2.5 points.
Throw 3 is a mid-air catch with only 3 paws inside the Double-Up Circle. The team's score is unchanged and remains at 2.5 points.
Throw 4 is a mid-air catch within the Double-Up Circle. This doubles the team's score and their progressive total is now 5.0 points.
Throw 5 (which is released only two seconds before the expiry of time) is an on-the-ground catch within the 10-20 metre zone. This adds 1 point to their score and their final total becomes 6.0 points.

Parking is free. Bathroom facilities are available at the site. Lots of shade is available under trees beside the field. Drinking water is available from taps on the site. Wham-O Fastback Frisbee discs, club merchandise, drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.
Spectators are warmly welcomed to watch and entry is free.
During the event you will see a variety of dogs of different sizes and speeds running out to catch discs and then returning them to their handler. Spectators are encouraged to cheer loudly when the dogs make catches. It is a lot of fun to watch these amazing canine athletes as they chase down the discs and catch the disc with their mouth. Whilst this is a fun sport for spectators to watch, no-one has more fun than the dogs.
Spectators might want to consider bringing a rug or portable chairs so they can stretch out on the lawn beside the competition field and rest their feet while they enjoy Brisbane's best Disc Dogs in action.
You need to bring a leash for your dog. If you can, please bring a crate or some means to tie out your dog so your dog can rest while you practice your throwing technique. You also need to bring a water bowl for your dog. Drinkable tap water will be available on-site.
Fastback Frisbee® discs will be on sale at this event. Fastback Frisbees are approved by the ACDA for
competition use in Australia. They were specifically designed for safe use with disc catching dogs and hover a
really long time.
New: $10
Annual membership in the Brisbane and Region K9 Disc Club (BARK) can be purchased at this event. New memberships and renewals receive one free canine entry at this event. BARK members pay $5 for typical event entries as opposed to $10 that non-member's pay so you've paid for your membership in just two events. Membership runs from January 1st to December 31st for each year. Individual membership is $10.
The Australian Canine Disc Association (ACDA) is the sanctioning body for Canine Disc in Australia. Because this is an ACDA sanctioned event, all participants must agree to become ACDA Affiliate Members. Affiliate Membership in ACDA is free.
Also, all competitors at ACDA sanctioned events are charged a $2 ACDA levy which funds ACDA and the services it provides for its membership. However, BARK will pay your ACDA levy on your behalf out of the event fees you pay when you attend the event.
Because this is an ACDA sanctioned event, teams who participate in the competition will be eligible to count their rounds towards the Awards and Titles that will be issued by the Australian Canine Disc Association (ACDA).
