This is a Championships competition for owners who want to play Canine Disc with their dog.
This event has been sanctioned by the Australian Canine Disc Association (ACDA). All competition rounds will be considered towards ACDA Titles and Awards.
Freestyle competitors will be trying to qualify for the World Dog Games at this event.
World class disc dog handlers will also be available to offer advice and help you improve. So get your dog, jump in the car, and come join the fun.
Spectators are warmly welcomed to watch, entry is free.
During the event you will see a variety of dogs of different sizes and speeds running out to catch discs and then returning them to their handler. Spectators are encouraged to cheer loudly when the dogs make catches. It is a lot of fun to watch these amazing canine athletes as they chase down the discs and catch the disc with their mouth. The event will feature full commentary from experienced Canine Disc commentators and non-stop music. Whilst this is a fun sport for spectators to watch, no-one has more fun than the dogs.
Prizes will be awarded to the the top three placings in all divisions. A special award will also be presented to the day's highest scoring Junior (14 years and under as at January 1 of this year).

The event will include 5 competition divisions:
Teams can elect to compete in any one, two or all of the following competition options:
The following eligibility rules apply to all ACDA sanctioned competitions.
Within the first rounds of each of the Toss & Fetch divisions the teams competing in Freestyle will be first in the starting order. In the final round of all Toss & Fetch divisions the teams competing in Freestyle will be last in the starting order in the same sequenced order that they competed in the first round. All other Toss & Fetch teams compete in the same sequenced order in the first and final rounds.
All Freestyle teams must also compete in one of the Toss & Fetch divisions but they have the option of withdrawing from the final Toss & Fetch Round without prejudicing their Freestyle placing. Within both Freestyle rounds the teams will be sequenced in the following order: Juniors Teams then Novice teams then Open teams. The event organisers have absolute discretion to re-organise the starting positions of handlers competing in Freestyle with multiple dogs.
Teams competing in the Junior, Novice and Open Divisions will have the total of their two rounds added to determine their placings.
Toss & Fetch is judged using the ACDA Throw & Catch Judging Criteria. A round score of 7.0 and 13.50 will earn the team an FDA qualifying card, a round score between 14.0 and 20.5 earns the team an FDE qualifying card and a round score between 21.0 and 42.5 earns the team an FDM qualifying card. A team required three (3) qualifying cards to gain that title.
At this competition, teams competing in the Pro and Super-Pro Divisions will have the total of their two freestyle rounds multiplied by 1.5. This multiplied total will then be added to their first round Toss & Fetch score to determine their placings. Scores in the final rounds of Toss & Fetch do not contribute to the scores for the Pro and Super-Pro Freestyle Divisions.
Freestyle is judged using the ACDA Freestyle Judging Criteria.
The game for this competition will be the Time Trial Game.
The objective of this event is to make 3 catch and retrieves beyond 10 metres within a 60 second time limit. The team that completes this objective in the fastest time wins. Time stops when the dog crosses the throwing line after making their third catch beyond 10 metres.
To gain a qualifying card towards your Frisbee Dog Games (FDG) title, a team must complete 3 catches with 40 seconds.

Annual membership in the Brisbane and Region K9 Disc Club (BARK) can be purchased at this event. New memberships and renewals receive one free canine entry at this event. The Australian Canine Disc Association (ACDA) is the sanctioning body for Canine Disc in Australia. Because this is an ACDA sanctioned event, all participants must agree to become ACDA Affiliate Members. Affiliate Membership in ACDA is free.
Also, all competitors at ACDA sanctioned events are charged a $2 ACDA levy which funds ACDA and the services it provides for its membership. However, BARK will pay your ACDA levy on your behalf out of the event fees you pay when you attend the event.
Because this is an ACDA sanctioned event, teams who participate in the competition will be eligible to count their rounds towards the Awards and Titles that will be issued by the Australian Canine Disc Association (ACDA).
